Medical Assistant
My name is Heojeong, and I have the privilege of being a Medical Assistant for Dr. Ruth Haskins. As a daughter of a labor and delivery nurse, my interest in women’s health was sparked very early in my life. During my undergraduate years at UC San Diego, interest blossomed into passion as I volunteered in the mom and baby units of local hospitals and conducted research on the role of the placenta in fetal health and development. Outside of medicine and science, I have over 4 years of volunteer and professional experience in gender-based violence prevention and have recently become certified as a sexual assault and domestic violence advocate.
I am currently in my ‘gap year’ before medical school and plan to become an OB/GYN. Working alongside providers who are so dedicated to their field and patients has been both incredibly educational and inspirational, which is why I’m so happy to be a part of the care provided here at Ruth Haskins, MD, Inc.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me biking along local trails, gardening, roller skating, rock climbing, and exploring new eateries.
