Nurse Practitioner
I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Ruth Haskins since 2014. We both share the love of Women’s Health and have devoted our careers to the field.
I have been a Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner for 35 years. Having graduated from the University of Nevada- Reno with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing many years ago, I began my career in the women’s health field as a Newborn Nursery Nurse. I moved into Labor and Delivery units, working in both high risk and low risk centers. I then expanded into High Risk OB Home Health Care.
After 10 years as a Registered Nurse I began the next phase of my career as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I have a diverse background from a variety of health care settings and populations. I have worked in community women’s health centers providing OB and GYN services to under-privileged and at-risk populations. I have also worked in private practice offices providing me a very diverse experience base. Committed to excellence in health care, I served as a Quality Management Clinician, Lead Clinician, as well as Nurse Administrator for several of the agencies for whom I have worked.
Outside of this office, I love to garden, take nature photographs, explore Pinterest, and see movies with my friends and family. I am learning to quilt and am an avid reader. I am always planning my next vacation as I love to travel for new experiences - near and far. I was born on the East Coast but mostly grew up in the West; I’ve made Folsom my home since 1992.
My experience in the practice of Women’s Health has taught me that active listening to our patients and each other brings about the best outcomes. In this office, we are encouraged to take the time that is needed to let each patient tell her story, so that their health care needs are fully met. I look forward to sharing your time with me.
