About Karen Klein, NP

Karen was born and raised in Sacramento. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Sacramento and graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1990. Karen's first job was in the extremely busy Labor and Delivery Unit at the UC Davis Medical Center.

After three years of hospital based employment she decided to also work part-time as a home-health nurse. In the mid 1990's Karen moved from Sacramento to Shingle Springs and joined the nursing staff at Mercy Hospital of Folsom in the Family Birth Center, where she continues to work Per Diem on occasion.

After working in the hospital environment for almost 10 years, Karen returned to school to obtain her Masters Degree as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. With her advanced degree, Karen worked in a busy Family Practice Office for four years caring for patients of all ages. She then realized her desire to specialize in Women’s Health and in 2005 began working in an OB/GYN office. She has continued to work in Women's Health ever since.

Karen enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and daughter. Together they enjoy ocean sports in addition to skiing, camping, playing tennis, and many more outdoor activities.
